Call For Blog Submissions

We are looking to hear from youth in Waterloo Region about their experiences, learnings, and hopes for sexual health. Priority will be given to youth voices that are often not given space: youth who identify as LGBTQ+, newcomer youth, people of colour, youth living with addictions, youth involved with the justice system, youth who are pregnant or parenting, youth who are living with an STI, youth who have dis/abilities, youth at risk of or experiencing homelessness, and any intersections of the identities and experiences above. We believe in creating space to hear and learn from the diverse experiences of youth living in Waterloo Region.

Posts can be anywhere from 200-600 words, can be about any topic related to sex, sexuality, or sexual health, and can intersect with many other topics. If your blog is selected, we will review and edit it (for grammar and clarity only; we want you to write in your voice) and send you back the final draft for your consent to publish. The blog will be published on the Doin’ It website and shared on the affiliated social media platforms (Twitter | Facebook | Instagram | Tumblr). You will receive a $25 VISA gift card if your submission is chosen to publish.

We ask that you do not share any identifying information about anyone else who might be featured in your story, in order to respect their privacy and confidentiality. Please only submit information and narratives that you believe to be true (the technical stuff we can fact-check for you). If you want to submit a post for consideration, have any questions as you go, or would like us to read drafts of your post, please feel free to email education@acckwa.com.
